Some modems require an init string to function better. These init strings change some of the preprogrammed characteristics that were set during manufacturer and often result in better performance.

Some modems run too "hot", that is they try to run too fast for the line conditions, and need to have their speed limited to where they operate error free, Running to fast will slow transmission throughput and cause disconnects due to error conditions on the line. Please talk with our tech support to determine the correct speed setting.
